Grief is a natural and human response to loss, whether it’s the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, a change in health, loss of identity or another significant life transition. It doesn’t unfold in a neat or predictable way, often you can feel like you are a ship in a storm. There are days when you feel lighter, days you feel heavy, overwhelmed and anxious. We often can be told to move on, to distract ourselves, or to feel differently than we do. While these messages may come from genuine and kind place, it also leaves us feeling misunderstood, unsupported, and even more isolated in our pain.
At Stillwater Healing we understand grief requires space and compassion, not judgment or creating timelines. This is a space where you are allowed to feel what you feel, without pressure to be anywhere other than where you are. Therapy provides a gentle support system of understanding and a space to process your emotions at your own pace. Therapy has the ability to help work towards healing, while honoring your grief and move forward that feels true to you.
